I came in contact with S&R (Rob) via the Woodbury, MN community web page. I was having problems with my current furnace and wanted to determine if a repair or a new system was the best option. After Rob laid out many options, I decided to go new. Although a new system was a larger investment than repairing the existing one, going this route was the best long-term solution to having the proper heating and cooling system for my property.
The old adage “you get what you paid for” is very true. A few things really resonated with me regarding Rob and his company: the passion he has for his craft, the goal to service the customer to 100% satisfaction, and his overall integrity through the entire process. A few examples of integrity:
• Rob didn’t belittle the former work or system. Instead, he focused on what solutions his company had to offer, stating, “For some this is only a business—when we do work, it’s our Picasso.”
• When going through all the options of what I could do Rob stated, “No is a perfectly acceptable answer.” No high-pressure tactics here, just straight up and honest. Again, this stated to me Rob was in for the long haul—not the quick one-time buck!
• Finally, when the job was complete, Rob provided me with options related to a maintenance plan. Previously, I had another company come into my house and selling me a maintenance plan was their first priority versus doing the work.If Rob ever needs a recommendation or a potential customer wants to speak with me for a reference, I will do that for Rob and S&R in a HEARTBEAT! In my opinion, you’ll have no better option for this important part of your home’s operating system.

We have used S&R for many years. We appreciate Alex coming each spring and fall to check out and tune-up our A/C and furnace. He knows our equipment and makes appropriate suggestions. He is a very professional representative of their company. Rob and Scott were both excellent in explaining our options and the differences in the technology. We purchased a high-efficiency furnace to be installed now and a five-stage air conditioner to be installed this spring. The furnace is terrific and we are very happy with the comfort it provides!2nd submission:
As our water heater began to fail after about 15 years of service, we called S&R Appliance Repair to discuss repair and replacement. After our discussion, we decided upon a replacement. Scott and Rob were able to get us scheduled the next day. The installation was performed quickly, everything was neat and tidy, and we now have wonderful H-O-T water again!

S&R has been our HVAC outfit for about 30 years. They have never missed an appointment. We have an annual tune-up on both heat and A/C. I think we had one service call in all that time. Rob sold us our last furnace and A/C unit, our son’s furnace, our hot water heater, and two dish washers. The equipment they sell is very good and everything operates as it should.

My refrigerator started leaking and I couldn’t get the water to shut off. Rob was finishing up for the day, but came over anyway to help fix the water leak until Scott came over. He went out of the way to help, when he could’ve gone home for dinner. S&R has always been helpful and honest, does quality work, and gives helpful advice. We were away on vacation when our son checked on our house and discovered it was COLD! We had just had S&R install a new induction motor, as the furnace had quit earlier, so he called S&R back. They came out right away, got the furnace restarted, and drove out twice a day until our return from vacation to assure us that our home didn’t freeze up. Upon our return, Scott came out and discussed options with us, helping us determine that a new furnace and A/C pairing was the best idea for our purposes.
Everything was handled with concern and more than professional care by S&R. We couldn’t be any happier with their service and professionalism.

It’s great to find a dependable and reliable company to troubleshoot and repair appliances. We used S&R last year on our furnace humidifier/dehumidifier and Scott was very prompt and courteous. This time our air conditioner failed and he arrived within two hours and diagnosed the problem within the first few minutes. After that it took less than an hour to confirm his diagnosis, then repair and clean our A/C unit (including the removal of a mouse nest—really sorry about that, Scott).

I have dealt with S&R for more than a decade. The first time they sold us on their honesty and service. Rob repaired a stove oven door for us—when he had ordered the part and came to put it in – he realized he should have fixed both sides. He fixed the other side for free. He also went above and beyond on a parts warranty on a furnace repair. No complaints. Nice people to deal with.
Have also bought two furnaces and had several appliances repaired for different houses. The furnaces are still working just fine. I absolutely trust them—one of the best things you can say about a service business.

Best experience ever with a heating and air conditioning company. The Bryant system Scott recommended is wonderful. Our house heats evenly and the air conditioner cools evenly. Our furnace is quiet and the heat pump saves us 20 percent on our bills. Scott and Rob installed a high-efficiency furnace that another company said they couldn’t. Scott and Rob found a way to install the system and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. They did exactly what they said they would do, and in a cost-effective and competitive manner.

Thank you for the excellent service you gave me to repair my air conditioning unit. I had called another heating and air conditioning company and they told me I needed a new compressor. The cost was well over $600. I told them I wanted to think about it and call them back. My neighbor suggested that I call S&R. Rob came on a service call the next day and told me the repair cost was $75 for a new start up capacitor—I was overwhelmed! You installed the new part and the A/C unit is still working great! I was very pleased with your courteousness and honesty.
